The Abacus is a handheld, digital radiation detection device that enables you to complete your radiation surveys automatically with your Abacus and a Pocket PC, Palm Pilot or PC.

Abacus offers excellent sensitivity to low levels of alpha, gamma, and x-rays. An internal "guard" detector automatically performs gamma subtraction from the "pancake" detector for unprecedented beta sensitivity.

The software can display a variety of units for a wide array of applications, including timed counts, control of the audio of each detector, and saving your surveys for easy analysis and sharing - all wirelessly with Bluetooth® right to your computer. The Abacus also has a red count light, a beeper sound and selectable alarm thresholds for quick assessments.

The RECON-200MHZ Ruggedized Pocket PC with Bluetooth for the Abacus is impervious to water and dust, and inside the rugged casing is packed with new connectivity options. As well as increased memory, and an industry-standard, open operating system, you now have the option of built-in Bluetooth® and wireless LAN.
